My Mother
My mother is a kind and gentle woman. She is always very gentle. She takes good care of her children and keeps them all at school. I have two brothers and two sisters. So she gets five children in all. She gives us every comfort we need. We all love her very much.
My mother has too much to do in bring us up. As our family is not rich enough, my mother always hits to do a lot of work. She gets up very early and sleeps very late every day. She works very hard, yet without complaining.
My mother is also a thrifty and industrious woman. She saves every penny that she can to keep everything in order. As she has been busy ever since she was young, she looks older than she really is. Her face is wrinkled, her hair becomes silver white, some of her teeth become movable. But she works as hard as ever.
My mother often says to us," work while you work, play while you play. If you did not work, you will become lazy and of no use to the society." What a good piece of advice it is! We must worth it well and always keep it in our minds.
暑假到了,我终于有时间帮妈妈做家务了。
“干什么好呢?”我决定做一件很简单的工作——饭后摆碗筷 ,擦桌子。
可是我有点犯难,因为有一次吃完饭,妈妈说:“儿子,能否帮我收拾一下桌子。”我爽快地说:“行呀,小菜一碟!”于是,我就把桌子上的碗、碟子、盘子、筷子、勺子一股脑的摞到了一块儿,形状像一座宝塔,我很兴奋。可是,乐极生悲,当我端着这座宝塔前脚刚跨进厨房门,后脚还没来得及站稳,我手上的宝塔突然晃了一下,便坍塌了一层,掉到了地上摔得粉身碎骨,里面的菜汤不仅撒了我一腿,还弄得满地都是,我也随之哇哇大哭。
“哎!这件事真是说起来容易做起来难,都怪我太轻敌了。”
今天,我又开始了第二轮战斗,这回我吸取了上次的教训,不把碗摞得那么高,而是分门别类,把碗和碗放在一块儿,碟子放在一块儿,盘子放在一块儿,大的在下面,小的在上面,因为这样有稳定性。我害怕如果摞得太高,噩梦会再次降临,我就把碗两个两个的往厨房运,而且拿紧,这样我蚂蚁搬家似的搬了好多次,终于大功告成。
该擦桌子了,擦桌子很简单,我把吃剩下的骨头连同废纸都擦到地上,将它们扫走,接着,我再用湿抹布把桌面反复擦几遍,就完成了任务。
做完这些,我心里美滋滋的。
First you make the dough by mixing water into the flour. The container shculd be big enough lest the flour and water will overflow. Press the dough with your hands till it is not sticky. When the dough is ready, leave it there for use later, then go on to make the fillings.
The second step is to mince the meat, mushrooms and shnmps till they are mixed in a paste. Add some spice such as ginger and onion and stir them evenly.
The third step is to make the wrappings. Roll the dough with a round stick into **all round pieces of wrappings, each two inches in diameter.
The fourth step is to put the filling in the middle of a wrapping. Then press the wrapping tight and a jiaozi is ready. When you have made enough Jiaozi, the next step is to boil them.
That is the last step. Put a pot of water on the stove. When the water is boiling, put the Jiaozi one by one into the water and cover the pot. When steam comes out, add more cold water and when it boils again add cold water a second time. When you see the Jiaozi floating in boiling water, you can put them in bowls or plates, get the chopsticks and be ready to eat.
